About AMV-CanadaWhat is AMV-Canada?Note: AMV-Canada is not an AMV team or studio AMV-Canada is an association of AMV makers (Anime Music Video) where Canadians gather to support the AMV community in Canada. AMV-Canada organizes AMV contests for conventions across Canada and also hosts a forum where users can discuss everything about AMVs and future events. AMV editors from Canada and abroad are welcomed to join the forum. Additionally, Canadians can become members and can also take part in the staff. Bilingualism at AMV-CanadaAMV-Canada prizes itself with its completely bilingual services, where required. As Canada possesses two official languages, English and French, we try to create a community that is as much English as it is French, requiring employees of the National Capital Region and New Brunswick to be bilingual, as well as all the information on this site and the official posts on the forum (posts referring to policies and official announcements). Become a MemberTo become a member of the Association of AMV-Canada, simply fill this form. We only require that you be a Canadian Citizen and an AMV maker. You will also need to join the forum to become a member. What are the advantages of being a member?Becoming a Member of AMV-Canada gives you access to a private section in our forum, a special notice under your avatar and of course, a voice in the association to help the AMV community in Canada. Non-Profit, Legal Status and Fiscal YearAMV-Canada is a non-profit organization legally represented by the Etienne Levesque Guitard Group. Since AMV-Canada remains unregistered, it is incapable of legally proving that it does not use its revenue for profit. Hence, in an effort to gain user trust, finances will be opened to the public starting on the fiscal year 2010-2011. Canadian fiscal years run from April 1 to March 31 and are thus referred to by their start and end year, e.g. 2009-2010, which would refer to the fiscal year starting April 1, 2009, and ending March 31, 2010. Additionally, fiscal years are divided in four quarters, referred to as Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4, ranging respectively from April to June, July to September, October to December and January to March. Please note that financial data will be available for the following fiscal years in April 2010: * FY 08-09 will start at Q2 since AMV-Canada was founded on July 15, 2008. Additional financial reports should be available quarterly. |
